ABOUT US

Our Story

Helping people, not patients.

The Acheinu story isn’t about us. It’s the story of those we help. It’s about making an overwhelming journey easier, and bringing light to the toughest moments.

“ACS were the only people who truly understood. They came with me to every appointment, took over all arrangements, guided every decision, and held my hand through it all.”

    Our Mission

No one should have to fight cancer alone.

The Acheinu story isn’t about us.

It’s the story of those we help.

It’s about making an overwhelming journey easier, and bringing light to the toughest moments.

“ACS didn’t just help me survive. They gave me the strength to live.”

      Our Vision

As needs grow, so does our care.

We will always be there, evolving our services to support patients and their families with whatever they need.

That means adding services, growing our team, and expanding the care we provide.

      Core Values

      What Shapes Us:

      All-Encompassing Care

We provide a wide range of services, doing whatever it takes to support patients through the hardest days with care and reassurance.

      Empowering Support

We walk alongside patients and their families, giving them the support they need to continue, one step at a time.

      Led With Heart

We care for every patient as a person, understanding their world and supporting them with compassion and dignity.

      How it all began:

      How it all began:

He saw how overwhelming the journey can be…

When Mr M. H. Kahn experienced the impact of cancer in his own family, he realised that patients and families were navigating too much alone.
There had to be somewhere to turn. One source of support.
And so, ACS – Acheinu Cancer Support was born: an organisation built around patients and their families, providing practical, medical, and wellbeing support. Every service is shaped entirely around their needs, supporting them in whatever way is required, every step of the way.

“ACS checked in constantly. They set up an Uber account so I could get home straight after treatment while my husband stayed with the family. On the day of surgery, they sent me a pampering package. I remember thinking, I must be their only patient.”

        A partnership of care:

“It is both remarkable and deeply touching to see the care that ACS offers patients as they navigate the diagnostic and treatment pathways of cancer. This is an intensely stressful time, filled with uncertainty and concern. The added personal touch and consistent support provided by ACS is truly invaluable to patients and their families.”

          Professor Francis Vaz

Consultant ENT & Head and Neck Surgeon, Professor of Otorhinolaryngology and Head and Neck Surgery. Christchurch, Canterbury University

“ACS guides all aspects of management from navigating appointments to managing the treatment. This support helps patients to feel more supported and positive which is recognised to improve recovery and outcomes.”

            Ms Franks

            Breast surgeon

“It was amazing to watch how groups across the globe come together to help people in need, offering support by every means possible.”

              Dr Kelly

              Surgeon LA

“I remember the time a patient presented with a large parietal tumour close to speech and movement areas. We were able to plan with colleagues from ACS who knew the patient and his family well, a customised approach to complex awake surgery. We were able to do this knowing that ACS would be able to support the patient and his family after such a surgery. The result has been a complete resection of the tumour and an intact and happy patient.”

                Dr Bhangoo
